Rs.10.55 lakh fines imposed for mobile phone and siren misuse in Malkajgiri

The Malkajgiri traffic police in Hyderabad carried out a special enforcement drive targeting motorists using mobile phones while driving and vehicles with unauthorised sirens. A total of 1,070 cases were booked, resulting in fines amounting to Rs. 10.55 lakh.

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri traffic police during a special drive conducted against use of mobile phones while driving and unauthorised sirens booked 1,070 cases on Thursday. A fine amount of Rs. 10.55 lakh was imposed on the violators.

K Rahul Reddy, DCP Traffic Malkajgiri said that special emphasis was placed on vehicles using unauthorised sirens. Strict enforcement measures were implemented at major junctions and accident-prone areas to address motorists’ use of cell phones while driving, dangerous manoeuvres, and siren misuse.


“The traffic police teams will continue to conduct such enforcement drives regularly to ensure discipline on the roads and promote adherence to traffic rules and regulations,” said the official.
