RTA cracks down on overloaded trucks after Chevella bus tragedy
Following the tragic collision near Chevella that claimed 19 lives, the Regional Transport Authority launched inspections in Patancheru, uncovering 14 overloaded gravel trucks. Led by RTO Vijaya Rao, the checks revealed vehicles carrying up to 10 tonnes beyond permissible limits.

Sangareddy: A day after a truck carrying gravel rammed into an RTC bus near Chevella killing 19 persons and injuring many others, Regional Transport Authority officials conducted checks on trucks transporting gravel from various quarries in Patancheru and found 14 of them overloaded.
The inspection was led by Regional Transport Officer Vijaya Rao. Officials found several trucks carrying 5 to 10 tonnes of gravel in excess of the permitted limit. The RTA warned that stern action would be taken against trucks found repeatedly violating overloading norms.
