Hyderabad: Over 27,000 farmers cultivating crops across 22,000 acres in Patancheru constituency received Rythu Bharosa assistance on Tuesday and Wednesday, following pressure from the BRS party. The Congress government released the funds after BRS leaders threatened to block the Outer Ring Road (ORR) over the delay.
Although Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had announced that Rythu Bharosa assistance would be disbursed to farmers across the State on June 27, the farmers in 48 villages spread across RC Puram, Ameenpur, Patancheru, and Jinnaram mandals were left out.
In response, the BRS organised a massive protest, during which senior leader T Harish Rao warned that the party would block the ORR if the government failed to release the assistance. Yielding to the pressure, the government released the Rythu Bharosa amount to the affected farmers.
