Hyderabad: BRSLP deputy leader P Sabitha Indra Reddy urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to order a comprehensive inquiry into alleged large-scale corruption in the Badangpet Municipal Corporation, which is now under GHMC limits. She requested a high-level, impartial probe to protect public funds and government land.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, the former Minister welcomed the suspension of 10 officials but said the findings by the authorities were only the tip of the iceberg. She called for a high-level inquiry to uncover deeper irregularities and identify those responsible.
Sabitha Indra Reddy raised concerns over encroachments on lakes and drainage channels, seeking demarcation of Full Tank Levels and strict action against illegal constructions. She also demanded a probe into alleged violations in building permissions, including multiple houses approved on single plots and irregular layouts.
The senior BRS legislator sought recovery of public funds from contractors for incomplete works and called for the blacklisting of those involved in fraud. She also pointed to the misuse of government funds in private real estate ventures and demanded criminal action.
Citing reports of missing official files, she urged registration of cases against those responsible. She called for an inquiry into lake beautification works and action against “key masterminds” behind the alleged corruption.
