Amaravati: Renewable energy firm SAEL Industries is expected to invest Rs 22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh across sectors, including green energy, biomass, data centres, and port development.

The investment has the potential to generate over 70,000 jobs in the State. The agreement for the investment is expected to be signed during the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, a TDP press release said. The two-day summit will be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.

“SAEL Industries Limited is investing Rs 22,000 crore in the state across renewable energy, biomass, data centres and port development, with an employment impact of 7,000 direct jobs and 70,000 indirect jobs,” the release said.

The scope of the investment includes a multi-sector pipeline comprising utility-scale solar and storage projects, biomass-based power, a hyperscale-ready data centre, and port-linked infrastructure aimed at driving industrial growth and improving logistics efficiency.

The company plans to set up seven solar/BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) projects with a total capacity of 1,750 MW across Kadapa and Kurnool districts.

These projects, linked to National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) tenders, aim to enable round-the-clock renewable power supply for industries and data centres.

Additionally, a 200 MW biomass project comprising 25 MW plants is planned to create rural employment and promote agricultural residue value chains. A data centre with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore will leverage Andhra Pradesh’s expanding digital infrastructure, while a Rs 4,000-crore port project is expected to enhance maritime logistics and export competitiveness.

“I’m delighted that SAEL Industries Ltd will be investing Rs 22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh. As one of the first projects commissioned under the State government’s integrated clean energy policy, SAEL has demonstrated excellent execution expertise,” said IT Minister Nara Lokesh, according to the release. The company has already invested Rs 3,200 crore in the state, commissioning 600 MW of capacity within nine months, the release added.
