Nalgonda: In all 40 BC and MBC Associations on Saturday extended their support to the TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath in by-elections to Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency. The leaders of 40 Associations including BC Welfare Association, community organisations of Vaddera, Shalivahana, Rajaka, Padmashali, Vishwabrahmina, Dudekula, Yadav, Mummurukapu and Mudiraj jointly held a meeting at Haliya and announced their support to TRS candidate in the by-elections.

BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah said that Nomula Narsimhaiah, father of Bhagath, strove for welfare of the people and fought to solve their issues until his last breath. He termed Narsimhaiah, who died of ill health, as a leader of the poor and the downtrodden. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has provided an opportunity to Narsimhaiah’s son Bhagath in the by-elections with great generosity.

Krishnaiah said BCs, SCs and STs have a responsibility of ensuring winning of Bhagath in the by-elections and exhibit their political strength. He was confident that Bhagath would win in the by-elections with a huge majority of the votes. “Nagarjuna Sagar was a historic place as Acharya Nagarjunudu resided there. We should create another history at Nagarjuna Sagar by bringing victory to Bhagath in the by-elections. If we ensure the winning of Bhagath, it would give signals to political parties that BCs would present victory to their leader in case opportunity was provided to them in the elections,” he said.

The voters of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency should cast their vote to Bhagath in the by-elections irrespective of the politics, he asked. He termed by-elections to Nagarjuna Sagar constituency as a fight for self respect of the BCs. He pointed out that the TRS  government has also taken up several schemes for the benefit of BC castes in the last seven years of its regime.
