Samsung sets two Guinness World Records with India #WithGalaxy photography campaign

Samsung’s India #WithGalaxy photography campaign has set two Guinness World Records for the largest smartphone photography competition and most contributions to an online photo artwork, showcasing India’s diversity through the Galaxy S Series.

Hyderabad: Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, on Thursday announced that its nationwide India #WithGalaxy photography challenge for the Galaxy S Series has entered the Guinness World Records (GWR), marking a significant milestone in smartphone photography and national storytelling.

Launched in 2010, the Galaxy S Series has won consumer loyalty over the years with its advanced photography capabilities, premium design, and user-friendly functionality. The series has consistently brought users closer to the world around them, offering seamless mobile experiences through a series of groundbreaking innovations.


Record-breaking achievement

The India #WithGalaxy campaign captured the essence of the nation through the lens of the Galaxy S Series and set two Guinness World Records:

Largest smartphone photography competition: Samsung created the world’s largest smartphone photography competition.

Most contributions to an online photo sentence (artwork): The photo submissions collectively formed one of the world’s largest collaborative digital artworks, celebrating creativity and digital participation across India’s diverse cultural landscape.

By setting two Guinness World Records, we have showcased the capabilities of the Galaxy S Series and amplified the voices of our consumers, who celebrate India’s diversity, beauty, and spirit through their lenses. This initiative reflects Samsung’s commitment to fostering innovation and cultural storytelling, empowering individuals to share their unique perspectives. The campaign ran from December 30, 2025, to January 26, 2026, inviting Indian citizens to capture authentic moments across the country using the Galaxy S Series. It received a total of 31,331 submissions reflecting India’s diversity, beauty, and spirit, culminating in a vibrant visual mosaic titled India #WithGalaxy. The campaign was anchored by acclaimed Indian filmmaker Kabir Khan and supported by more than 30 regional photographers.

Themes captured in the campaign

The India #WithGalaxy initiative highlighted four key themes:

Faces of India: Portraits of real people showcasing the nation’s warmth and diversity.

Sights of India: Natural and architectural landscapes, from the Himalayas to India’s coastlines.

Spirit of India: Everyday moments of pride, resilience, and unity.

Colours of India: Vibrant textures, attire, cuisine, and cultural expressions across regions.

Cultural celebration beyond technology

Beyond showcasing technological prowess, the campaign wove a strong cultural narrative. By enabling citizens to document their own India stories, Samsung reinforced its commitment to people-driven storytelling and cultural relevance. The company expressed gratitude to all participants, creators, and partners who contributed to the record-breaking achievement.

Samsung reiterated its mission to push the boundaries of innovation and inspire global storytelling through technology.
