Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, and Watch8 with AI-powered upgrades at Galaxy Unpacked 2025
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, Flip7 FE, and Watch8 series at Galaxy Unpacked 2025. With powerful Galaxy AI integration, One UI 8, and Android 16, the devices feature slimmer designs, new health tools, and enhanced user privacy and performance.
Hyderabad: Samsung Electronics redefined the future of foldables and wearables at Galaxy Unpacked 2025, hosted in Brooklyn under the theme “Unfold Ultra.” The event marked the global debut of the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, and Galaxy Watch8 series — all powered by the latest iteration of Galaxy AI.
Samsung emphasized its commitment to combining AI with mobile innovation, with its new devices showcasing enhanced personalization, multimodal understanding, and powerful performance across foldables and wearables.
AI-first vision with One UI 8 and Android 16
At the heart of the experience is One UI 8, a next-generation user interface optimized for foldable form factors and AI-driven functionality. Enhanced privacy features include an on-device Personal Data Engine and Knox Encrypted Protection. The new interface debuts alongside Android 16, available on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 at launch, following close collaboration with Google.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Slimmest yet, most powerful ever
The Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung’s slimmest Fold device to date, features a larger display, a 200MP wide-angle camera, and AI tools such as Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Generative Edit with Suggest Erases and Audio Eraser. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip enhances performance, while Circle to Search now supports in-game contextual lookups.
Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE: Compact with full AI capability
The Galaxy Z Flip7 offers a 6.9-inch bar-style main display and a redesigned 4.1-inch FlexWindow with ultra-thin bezels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Now Bar displays real-time information even when the phone is closed. AI features include Gemini integration for hands-free operation and outfit suggestions.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE retains the same iconic foldable design and AI-driven performance, making the Flip experience more accessible.
Galaxy Watch8: Health-focused innovation meets performance
The Galaxy Watch8 series introduces a sleeker cushion design and enhanced features like Running Coach, Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index, leveraging the new 3nm processor and upgraded BioActive Sensor.
It also becomes the first smartwatch powered by Wear OS 6 and comes preloaded with Google Gemini, further deepening AI integration.
Sustainability and experience
Samsung reaffirmed its environmental commitment through the use of nine recycled materials in the Z Fold7 and Flip7, including plastics from discarded fishing nets, aligning with the Galaxy for the Planet initiative.
Attendees at the Experience Zone praised the devices’ thinner builds and smarter features. Influencers and journalists from Spain to Türkiye highlighted improved comfort, usability, and creativity across the Galaxy lineup.
