Sand stored illegally in three places seized in Telangana’s Nirmal
Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said that the sand was being mined at 17 reaches and the mineral was illegally stored at 35 places across the district
Nirmal: Police seized sand illicitly mined and stored in different parts of the district by conducting surprise raids by collaborating with the revenue department on Monday.
In a statement, Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said that the sand mined and stored illegally in Gajulapet, Ramnagar and Manjulapur areas was seized during the surprise raids. She warned that stringent action would be initiated against those who mine and store the mineral without prior permission from the government.
The superintendent further said that the sand was being mined at 17 reaches and the mineral was illegally stored at 35 places across the district. She stated that a special task force team was formed to curb the unauthorised mining and storage of the sand. She gave suggestions to police officials on cracking the whip against the wrongdoers.
