Hyderabad: Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, who turned a year older today, gave his fans an emotional gift along with the usual birthday celebrations. While wishes poured in and posters of his upcoming movies grabbed attention, it was the announcement of Survivor: a documentary about his real-life battle with cancer, that truly stood out.
The film will tell the story of how the Sandalwood legend faced one of the toughest phases of his life. After being diagnosed with cancer in August last year, Shivanna as fans lovingly call him, underwent treatment in Bengaluru and the USA. He has now fully recovered and wants to share his journey with the public to spread hope and awareness.
Earlier this March, the actor had shared his wish to bring his year-long health struggle to light, not just as a personal story but as an inspiration to others who are fighting similar battles.
Survivor is being produced under the Geetha Pictures banner by Shiva Rajkumar’s wife, Geetha Rajkumar. Pradeep Sastry is on board to direct the documentary, while PK Ashwin will compose the music. Fans can expect more updates and a glimpse into the making of the film in August 2025.
As the superstar continues to charm the audience on-screen, his courage off-screen is set to inspire millions, reminding everyone that true heroes fight even when the cameras are off.
