Sangareddy: Chief Engineer K Dharma relieved amid bribery allegations in Telangana irrigation department
Chief Engineer K Dharma, in charge of Hyderabad and Sangareddy irrigation divisions, was removed from duty amid bribery allegations linked to a mall construction permit. The government has attached him to the Engineer-in-Chief’s office pending further inquiry and disciplinary review.

Sangareddy: In the wake of various allegations against the Chief Engineer (Irrigation) Sangareddy K Dharma, ,who also the incharge CE of Hyderabad district, has been relieved from his post immediately and attached to Engineer-in-Chief (general) office, Hyderabad. Since Dharma was also holding the CE, Hyderabad post, the government was also relieved from the post. Rahul Bojja, Principal Secretary, Irrigation and CAD, has issued directions in this regard on Sunday evening. Dharma reportedly demanded a huge amount of bribe for granting permission for construction of a mall in Bachupally area.
When he was holding the CE post in Sangareddy, the ACB officials nabbed Gummadidala irrigation AE, Ravi Kishore while he was accepting Rs one lakh bribes from a person in Patancheru. However, the ACB officials suspected the involvement of another senior officer in the entire episode, but they could not manage to nab him.
