Sangareddy Collector tells officials to expedite NH-161 works
During a meeting with the highway authorities, Collector has reviewed the progress of the works, issues pertaining to religious structures inthe road, payment of compensation to displaced, court cases and other issues

Sangareddy: In the wake of increasing road accidents on NH-161, Disrict Collector M Hanumantha Rao has instructed the officials to expedite the works of the National Highway which is being developed into a four-lane road. During the March month, a couple of road accidents were reported on this highway resulting in the death of five persons. Since the construction of the road has narrowed the road at several places, a number of accidents have been reported.
During a meeting with the highway authorities and various wings of district administration here on Tuesday, the Collector has reviewed the progress of the works, issues pertaining to religious structures that are coming in the way of the road, payment of compensation to displaced, court cases and other issues.
Project Director of NHAI (National Highways Authority of India), Madhusudhan Rao informed the Collector that about 90 per cent works have been completed so far. The Collector has suggested the Tahsildars, Police and highway authorities in coordination to remove the structures.
