Sangareddy: Superintendent of Police Sangareddy Paritosh Pankaj stated that debris removal at the Sigachi blast site was nearly complete. “As per the NDRF team, the debris clearance is almost done, and no additional bodies have been found. We are still verifying the list of missing persons,” he said in a post on X.
However, the SP said that one team each from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and HYDRAA remained stationed at the site as a precautionary measure in case of any further developments.
He said that the Telangana Police were accompanying the bodies of the victims to their native places and handing them over to their respective families.
The Telangana government was also coordinating with the respective state governments involved. However, he said that the search operation was still underway to trace the remaining nine employees of Sigachi who were untraceable after the blast and to identify the five dead bodies kept in the mortuary.
The debris was being taken to another empty site identified by officials in the Pashamylaram industrial area, where they were again searching in the debris to find evidence and mutilated body parts.
