Sangareddy: Munipally Police in Sangareddy district have seized 240 kgs of ganja from an SUV that was proceeding to Mumbai from Pendurthi near Vishakapatnam.
During a regular check at Kamkole check-post on NH-65 late on Monday night, a team led by Sub-inspector Maheshwar Reddy found the driver of the vehicle was nervous while they were checking the vehicle. The driver cum owner of the vehicle was identified as Raja Stalin, a native of Tamil Nadu. He was transporting the ganja for Shekhar, a smuggler who hired his vehicle. The police arrested Raja Stalin and seized the vehicle, one mobile phone and Rs 1,200 cash from him.
DSP Sangareddy A Balaji said that they will soon nab Shekar too. Warning that the police will initiate stern action if anyone was found in possession of any drug or growing ganja plants on their lands, Balaji called upon the citizens to inform them if they come across such activities.
