Sangareddy: Pollution Control Board (PCB) officials seized a tanker which was releasing septic tank waste into the Nakkavagu, a tributary of River Manjeera, near Patancheru on Tuesday.

PCB Field Assistant Anil caught the vehicle. PCB executive engineer Gita Reddy also inspected the site. During the enquiry, the tanker driver said they had got the waste from an Udupi Hotel in Muthangi.

The PCB officials collected the samples of the water, which were then sent to the lab. Gita Reddy said they would initiate action against the tanker owner after the lab tests.

She said they would take stern action if anyone was caught polluting water bodies. The EE said their teams would roam around the district to keep a watch on such activities.
