Rajya Sabha member Santosh Kumar is being received by minister Indrakaran Reddy and Collector Musharraf Ali Faruqui in Nirmal on Sunday
Nirmal: Rajya Sabha member Joginapalli Santosh Kumar planted saplings as part of ongoing Telanganaku Harita Haram at Gayathri Township here on Sunday. He was joined by Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy. As many as 4,000 saplings were planted through the multi-level avenue plantation.
Santosh Kumar appreciated efforts of the minister and authorities of Nirmal district for enhancing the greenery of the district. He said that the government was committed to increasing the green cover of the State with the help of Telanganaku Harita Haram. He requested the citizens to strive hard for protecting the environment and for preventing pollution by planting 10 saplings each.
Earlier, the Rajya Sabha member visited the ancient Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple at Burugupalli village in Nirmal and performed special prayers. MLAs G Vittal Reddy and A Rekha Naik, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) R Sobha Collector Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Field Director to Kawal Tiger Reserve CP Vinod, In-charge Superintendent of Police Ch Praveen Kumar, District Forest Officer Vikas Meena and many other officials were present.
