Sarpanch candidate wins by one-vote in Karimnagar
In a nail-biting contest during the second phase of gram panchayat elections, Vadlakonda Venkatesh won the sarpanch post in Ambalpur village of Shankarapatnam mandal, Karimnagar district, by a margin of just one vote.

Karimnagar: Sarpanch aspirant Vadlakonda Venkatesh won the seat with a one-vote margin in Ambalpur village of Shankarapatnam mandal in the second phase of gram panchayat polls held on Sunday.
Three candidates, Vadlakonda Venkatesh, Vegurla Yellaiah and Moinuddin, contested for the sarpanch post. All three were Congress candidates.
Out of 1,161 votes in the village, 1,039 votes were polled. While Venkatesh secured 449 votes, Yellaiah got 448 votes and Moinuddin received 125 votes. Officials declared Venkatesh the winner as he polled one vote more than his nearest rival Yellaiah.
