Hyderabad: Your wish is their command that is how one would describe their experience at the newly-opened Absolute Barbeques outlet in Secunderabad. From the never-ending chicken, fish, mutton, and prawn starters to mouth-watering vegetarian items like barbecued watermelons, pineapple, paneer, mushroom, and corn, AB’s (as it is popularly called) has something for everyone.

From chats like Pav Bhaji to Pani Puri, a live biryani counter, pasta, and pizza counter to a salad counter; it has food of all kinds.
The icing on the cake is the Wish Grill wherein customers can choose from different varieties of exotic veg and non-vegetarian dishes and customize it with their choice of sauce and topping. It offers baby corn, mushroom, American sweet corn, bamboo shoots, jalapeno, and non-veg customers can choose from exotic dishes like Cultured Bunny, Quail, Squid, Peking Duck, and Egg Frittato.
While the above-mentioned items can be enjoyed if you manage to leave some space in your stomach after having relished the non-stop serving of barbecue starters like coastal BBQ Prawns, Ashin BBQ Chicken, Dora Seekh Kabab, Kasundi Fish Tikka. In veg, you have Crispy Corn, Hara Bhara Kebab, and Tandoori Paneer Tikka.
The star of the vegetarian starters is AB’s special American Cheesy Potato that has the goodness of potato and cheese and tantalizing taste of barbeque sauce. Even before you finish the last bite of the barbequed starters, the waiters are ready to serve you more if you have the appetite for it.
On an average, you will spend about one hour enjoying the starters which can be washed down with a soft drink of your choice or a lime soda or their blue cocktail – which is the crowd favourite.
Post this, it is time to set your eyes on the main course and it is not designed to disappoint. From the regular yellow dal to AB’s special dal and rice to veg noodles and fried rice to Sri Lankan fish curry and chicken chilli with chicken fried rice, it has a wide variety of dishes. However, if you are a pakka Hyderabadi then it is important to get a taste of the chicken biryani which is served piping hot at the live counter.
Every meal needs to end on a sweet note and AB’s dessert spread does not compromise on that front. With 15 dessert dishes, the place is a paradise for your sweet tooth. Indian sweets like Moong Dal Halwa, Angoori Gulab Jamun, Indrani, Phirni, and Hot Jalebi will transport you to a sweeter world, while the chocolate pastry and cheesecake are a favourite among the kids. The superstar is the pan shot ice cream which feels like having a colder version of your favourite ‘meetha’ pan.
