Kothagudem: Shuttle Badminton Association of Bhadradri Kothagudem (SBA-BKGM) would strive to tap the talent of shuttle players, said the association office bearers. Around 550 badminton players in the district have come under the banner of the association registered a few months ago with an objective of bringing all the players in the district together, to promote the sport and to serve as a platform for every player to unleash their talent.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday the association general secretary M Chaitanya Krishna, its adviser T Damodar informed the SBA-BKGM office bearers would work towards exploring and boosting the sporting talent in the players. The association would intensify its efforts to ensure indoor stadiums available across the district for the players to practice on a regular basis. Representations to concerned officials have already been submitted on behalf of the association, they said.
Krishna informed that a district level meeting of the association was scheduled to be held on March 20 at Kothagudem Club. Deliberations on strengthening the association, achieving coordination among the shuttlers to move forward collectively with future activities would take place at the meeting. He urged all the players to make the meeting a success while Damodar hoped that the shuttlers in Kothagudem district would bring reputation to the district. The association’s new committee was announced on the occasion by the general secretary Krishna.
The names of office bearers were as follows; president Dr. Ch Rajasekhar Ayyappa, vice presidents Y Venugopal and Venkat, treasurer D Ramesh, joint secretaries T Ram Kumar and D Gangadhar, assistant secretaries P Lakshman, Panduga Reshwanth and Giri.
