Medak: Telangana SC, ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah has urged the Medak police to nab the accused who shot and killed Congress dalit leader Marelli Anil last Monday.

Venkataiah, who visited the family on Thursday at Pythara village in Kulcharam mandal, urged the police to register SC/ST Atrocity Act case against the assailants apart from the murder case.

The SC, ST Commission chairman said that he spoke to SP DV Srinivas Rao and IG S Chandrashekhar Reddy before coming there.

He said that they will extend all support to the family members of Anil by talking to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and in-charge Minister G Vivekanand.

Citing the murder of another ST leader Jatoth Chandu Nayak last Tuesday, he said it is hurting them to see marginalised caste members being murdered in the state.
