SCCL CMD warns fraudsters

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar on Monday said stern action would be taken against fraudsters who cheat the gullible unemployed youth by giving bogus appointment letters.

He asked officials concerned to take strict action against those involved in corrupt activities using the name of Singareni. It has been principally decided to set up a vigilance department in Godavarikhani in close proximity to Ramagundam and Bellampally regions, where more than 50 per cent of employees of Singareni are working, to crack the whip on fraudsters.

The SCCL has already fired a few employees who were implicated for defrauding other workers. Earlier, instructions were issued for the appointment of nearly 4,000 unemployed youth from Telangana for regular appointment apart from appointments on sympathy grounds.

As many Singareni employees are uneducated, some fraudsters took advantage of the situation and promised them medically unfit certificates and get jobs for their heirs. The fraudsters are cheating unemployed youth promising them jobs in Singareni claiming that they know some higher officials in the company.

These fraudsters also issued bogus appointment letters to the unemployed youths. The management has decided to take strict action against those creating these bogus appointment letters. Sridhar advised the youth to be careful with these fraudsters.

Singareni recently issued a notification for filling vacancies related to fitter trainee, electrician trainee, welder trainee, turner trainee, machinist, moulder, junior staff nurse and other posts. The medical boards meetings are conducted every month to identify medically unfit workers to give jobs to their kin as per rules.

However, some innocent people are falling prey to these fraudsters. The SCCL has also ordered a probe against those acting as agents of fraudsters and some workers were also removed from the job for maintaining links with fraudsters.

Appointments in SCCL through specified system

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has said that there is a specified system for appointments in Singareni. Information on vacancies is given through advertisements in newspapers and appointments are done as per a specified system.

All details are uploaded on the company website. The SCCL advised unemployed youth not to believe in fraudsters, who provide bogus appointment letters. Information pertaining to corrupt activities can be given on mobile numbers: 9491144104 and 9491145027. Details can also be forwarded to the vigilance department mail id vig@scclmines.com

The identity of informants will be kept secret and strict action will be taken against fraudsters, said N. Balaram, Director and Chief Vigilance Officer, SCCL.
