SCCL worker trapped under rock in Vakeelpalli mine

Peddapalli: Singareni Collieries Company Limited worker trapped under a rock in mishap took place in Vakeelpalli (Nine incline) coal mine, Ramagundam-II, on Thursday afternoon.
Repaka Naveen (28), working as an overman, has come under the rock when the roof cave-in accidentally at 65th level junction of 41st deep at around 3 pm to 3.30 pm.
The incident occurred while Naveen was examining the work completed by workers. About two feet width rock fell on Naveen, singareni source said.
A general mazdoor worker, Satish, who was also there at the time of the accident, escaped with minor injuries. He has been shifted to Godavarikhani singareni area hospital, wherein he is undergoing treatment.
After coming to know about the incident, Singareni officials deployed a rescue team to rescue Naveen by clearing debris.
General Manager, Ramagundam-II, Suresh visited the mine and is examining the rescue operation. TBGKS leaders also visited the mine.
Responding to mine mishap, TRS leader and MLC K Kavitha tweeted for safe and swift rescue of Naveen. “I am praying and hoping that our Singareni brother Naveen who is currently trapped in the Vakeelpalli mine due to a mishap is rescued safely and swiftly,” she tweeted.
Naveen was married three months ago.
