School bus hit by truck in Mahabubnagar, students escape unhurt
Students of a private school in Mahabubnagar had a narrow escape after their school bus was hit by a truck near Yenugonda on Thursday. Though the bus was damaged, no injuries were reported. Locals renewed demands to address safety issues at the U-turn.
Mahabubnagar: Students of a private school here had a narrow escape after the bus in which they were travelling was hit by a truck at Appannapally on Thursday.
Though the bus suffered some damage, none of the students were injured in the incident, reports said.
The incident occurred when the school bus was heading to Jadcherla from Mahabubnagar. As the truck was taking a ‘U’ turn near Yenugonda, it hit the bus from behind, according to reports.
Locals have been expressing concern over frequent accidents at the U turn near Yenugonda. They have been appealing to officials to either close the U turn or widen the carriageway further to facilitate smooth flow of traffic.
