Scooter owner booked for tampering number plate by Abid Road police
The Abid Road police registered a case against Shaik Mustafa for allegedly altering his scooter’s registration number to evade traffic challans. Following a complaint, police tracked Mustafa’s scooter through surveillance cameras and booked him.

Hyderabad: The Abid Road police have registered a case against a scooter owner for allegedly tampering with his vehicle’s registration number to evade traffic challans.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Shaik Mustafa, a resident of Basharathnagar in Kalapather, owns a scooter bearing registration number TS12 EU 5663. In an attempt to avoid traffic violation penalties, Mustafa allegedly changed the number plate to TS12 EX 4899. which belongs to another vehicle owned by Fahad Khan of Falaknuma.
Subsequently, traffic challans generated against Mustafa’s scooter were issued in Khan’s name. Khan approached the traffic police after noticing that he was receiving challans for violations committed by an unknown person.
Based on a complaint about misuse of vehicle registration number, the Abid Road police station registered a case and tracked down Mustafa’s vehicle using surveillance cameras.
On interrogation, Mustafa admitted he had replaced his vehicle number plate to evade traffic penalties. The police subsequently seized his scooter and registered a case against him.
