Hyderabad: Due to cyclone Jawad, which will make landfall in Odisha on December 5, the authorities at South Central Railways have decided to cancel or divert trains on the affected routes for the safety of passengers.
A total of eight trains connecting Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Kacheguda railway stations to various destinations have been cancelled.
Train numbers 18045 (Howrah to Hyderabad), 18046 (Hyderabad to Howrah), 12703 (Howrah to Secunderabad), 12704 (Secunderabad to Howrah), 12513 (Secunderabad to Guwahati) and 17016 (Secunderabad to Bhubaneshwar) which were scheduled for December 4 have been cancelled. Similarly, two trains scheduled for December 5 — train numbers 17015 (Bhubaneshwar to Secunderabad) and 17603 (Kacheguda to Vasco-da-Gama) — have been cancelled as well.
Meanwhile, to facilitate the passengers, SCR will be operating a one way special train from Secunderabad to Guwahati on December 5. Scheduled to depart from Secunderabad at 11.35 pm on Sunday, the train will reach Guwahati at 6.10 am on Wednesday. Enroute, this train will stop at Kazipet, Peddapalli, Mancheral, Balharshah, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Ranchi, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Barauni, Katihar, New Jalpaiguri and New Bongaigaon stations. It will consist of AC II tier, AC III tier and sleeper class coaches.
