Hyderabad: In a move aimed at ensuring public safety and smooth rail operations, the South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to dismantle the old Foot Over Bridge (FOB) located in Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station.
The FOB, which connects the Red Hills area with Public Garden, is over five decades old and is not linked to any station platforms.
Railway officials said the structure has deteriorated significantly over the years and poses a safety risk as it passes over multiple railway yard lines.
The dismantling work will be carried out from December 20 to 23. During this period, adequate safety measures will be in place and train operations will be regulated wherever necessary.
SCR authorities stated that the work will be executed with strict safety precautions and in coordination with all departments concerned.
Rail passengers and the general public have been requested to cooperate.
