Jagitial: A minor scuffle with neighbours led to the death of a 42 year-old man in Jagitial town on Saturday night. The deceased Mohammed Saleem ,a resident of Gandhinagar suffered head injury when he fell on the ground during a fist fight with the neighbours and was declared brought dead at the government hospital.

According to police, Saleem had an argument with his neighbours Dubba Srinivas, Nakka Laxman and Nakka Suresh over an issue three days ago. On Saturday night, he picked up a quarrel with them alleging that the latter threw stones at his house. As the argument turned serious, a jostling took place between Saleem and youths.

In the melee, Saleem fell on the ground and his head knocked to a stone on the ground resulting in a head injury. Immediately, Srinivas and Laxman shifted him to Jagitial government hospital where doctors declared Saleem brought dead. Enraged over the incident, family members and relatives of the deceased gathered at Jagitial police station in large numbers demanding justice. Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sharma, Additional SP Suresh Kumar, DSPs Venkataramana and Gouse Baba rushed to the spot.

They left the spot with SP’s assurance to take immediate action against the accused. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife, police registered the case and began investigation into the incident.
