Mancherial: Special Deputy Collector and Returning Officer Chandrakala drew criticism for evading payment of charges relating to lighting, transportation, photography, etc., services availed during recent Parliament elections, in Chennur on Saturday.
Service providers stopped a vehicle of the returning officer and confronted her for avoiding the payment of the charges citing petty reasons. They said that they were running from pillar to post seeking the charges.
They wanted her to take steps immediately to pay the bills. They announced that they would stage a protest if she continued to evade the charges.
Policemen who were present at the spot advised the providers to lodge a complaint with the police. They helped the officials to leave the place by preventing the agitators.
