Second-year GITAM University student goes missing after hostel outing in Sangareddy

A 19-year-old second-year B.Tech student of GITAM University, Hyderabad, has gone missing after failing to return to her hostel following an outing on Wednesday evening. Her parents lodged a missing complaint, and police have launched a search to trace her.

Sangareddy: A B.Tech second year girl student, who went for an outing from hostel on Wednesday failed to return. The student Ashritha (19) of Hyderanagar, was studying second year in GITAM University, Hyderabad located at Rudraram under Patancheru police station limits.

She has been staying in the college hostel during the last two years. She took permission from the hostel for an outing on Wednesday evening. However, she failed to return to the hostel. When her parents tried to reach her over phone on Thursday, Ashritha’s phone remained siwtched off.
The parents reached the college and registered a missing compliant on the same day after talking to college and hostel staff. The search was on to trace her.
