Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing redevelopment works of the Secunderabad railway station, the South Central Railway (SCR) has taken measures to ease traffic congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement within the station premises. Accordingly, on the Platform No 1 side, the parking facility has been temporarily suspended, permitting only pick-up and drop services.
Further, on the Platform No 10 side, an Access Control System has been implemented to prevent unauthorised parking and vehicle blockage in the circulating area.
SCR officials said passengers entering this zone are provided a free pick-up and drop facility for up to 15 minutes, beyond which overstay charges will be levied on vehicles not parked in the authorised parking lot. These steps are aimed at maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow and enhancing passenger convenience during the redevelopment phase.
However, sufficient parking facility has been provided for four-wheelers and two-wheelers at the underground basement on Platform No 10 side for boarding trains, as well as for pick-up, drop, and parking purposes, a railway official said.
Rail users were asked to utilise the basement parking facility provided on Platform No 10 side for hassle-free traffic movement at the station and to avoid any over-stay charges for unauthorised parking.
Parking tariff for authorised parking at basement of Platform No 10:
Vehicle – Rate (including GST) – Periodicity of Charge
- Four Wheeler – Rs 40 – For the first two hours, thereof Rs 20 for subsequent hours
- Two-wheeler – Rs 25 – For the first two hours, thereof Rs 10 for each subsequent hour
