Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in Secunderabad after some persons damaged an idol at a temple late on Sunday night. According to the police, three persons had reportedly entered the premises of Muthyalama temple located near Passport office Secunderabad.
The trio then allegedly damaged the idol in the temple. Locals, who heard huge sound from the temple, rushed to the place and managed to catch one person. They handed him over to the police.
Since morning, scores of people gathered near the temple demanding the police take stern action against the miscreants.
Meanwhile, on Monday evening, several police teams conducted searches at lodges and hotels located in the vicinity of Secunderabad railway station following the incident. The police took into custody a few suspects and are questioning them. The police checked the records at the lodges and analyzing the footages of surveillance cameras as part of investigation.
