Hyderabad: An outsourcing employee of the State Bank of India was injured when a security guard at the bank shot him with his licenced weapon following an argument on Wednesday. The injured person is out of danger.
According to police, the incident happened at the SBI’s Gunfoundry branch after the victim, Surender, a Class IV employee, reportedly made fun of the security guard, Sardar Khan, near the security guard’s room on the bank premises. The incident happened around 3.30 pm.
“An infuriated Sardar Khan after an argument took his gun and fired three rounds at Surender. One bullet hit him, while the other two rounds hit the wall,” P Vishwa Prasad, DCP (Central) said, adding that Surender was undergoing treatment and as per doctors, was out of danger.
A case was registered and later in the evening, Khan was taken into custody and his weapon was seized. Forensic teams and senior police officials inspected the spot.
