Security tightened at Hyderabad airport ahead of Independence Day
Security has been tightened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad ahead of Independence Day celebrations. High-alert restrictions will remain in force until August 20, with visitor passes suspended and intensive checks of vehicles, passengers and airport premises.

Hyderabad: Security has been tightened at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad in view of Independence Day celebrations.
The high-alert restrictions are expected to remain in force from until August 20.
As part of the security measures, visitor pass counters have also been closed. Vehicles entering the airport are being thoroughly checked at the main entry points before being allowed inside.
Security personnel are conducting intensive checks across the airport premises with the assistance of sniffer dog squads.
Meanwhile, air passengers and visitors have been advised to cooperate with security personnel and allow extra time for screening.
