Hyderabad: Senior actor Meena on Monday planted a sapling at her residence in Saidapet, Chennai, as part of the Green India Challenge, initiated by Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar.

Accepting the challenge from news presenter and former contestant of Telugu Bigg Boss 4 Devi Nagavalli, the actor stressed the need for making the environment more greener as much as possible to face the adversities of pollution and global warming.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to plant saplings and also protect them until they grow and self sustain themselves. I thank TRS MP Santosh Kumar Joginapally for initiating and promoting the green initiative so intensely,” she added.

She further nominated Venkatesh Daggubati, Kannada actor Sudeep, Malayalam actor Manju Warrier and Keerthy Suresh to continue the chain and plant trees as part of the challenge.
