Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Thakkalapally Ravinder Rao from Narsampet constituency joined the BRS in the presence of party working president KT Rama Rao and former MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. Welcoming him, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy said Ravinder Rao’s entry would give the BRS a substantial boost in Narsampet politics, particularly in the municipality and Khanapuram mandal.
Ravinder Rao, who served as Congress constituency convener, district spokesperson, two-time MPP and Single Window Chairman for nearly a decade, said he was quitting the Congress in protest against its anti-people policies and alleged lack of direction. He credited former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s developmental initiatives as a major factor behind his decision to join the BRS.
