Senior CPI (Maoist) leader Deva surrenders before Telangana police

Senior CPI (Maoist) leader Badse Sukka alias Deva, a Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee member, surrendered before the Telangana police along with around 19 Maoists. He reportedly laid down arms and cash and carries a Rs 50 lakh reward.

Hyderabad: Senior CPI (Maoist) leader Badse Sukka, alias Deva, the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee Member reportedly surrendered before the Telangana police along with around 19 other Maoist.

A native of Puvvarthi village in Sukma district of Chattisgarh, Deva joined the movement in 2004 under the influence of Jaggu Dadu, Jegurugonda LOS Commander.


He is involved in multiple cases in Chattisgarh that include exchange of fire, ambushes and attacks on police forces.

According to reports, Deva surrendered along with weapons and Rs. 20 lakh cash to the Telangana police. He carries a reward of Rs.50 lakh.

Telangana DGP will hold a press conference later in the night to brief the media.
