Senior Maoist leader Padmavathi alias Kalpana surrenders in Telangana
Pothula Padmavathi alias Kalpana, a senior CPI (Maoist) leader associated with the movement for 43 years, surrendered before Telangana police on Saturday. She carried a reward of ₹25 lakh, which the state government has announced will be handed over to her.

Hyderabad: A senior leader of CPI (Maoist) Pothula Padmavathi alias Kalpana surrendered before the Telangana police on Saturday.
She was associated with the movement for 43 years. Kalpana had joined the CPI ML (People War Group) in 1982 and worked with the party in different capacities.
She carries a reward of Rs 25 lakh and the amount is being handed over to her by the Telangana government.
Kalpana worked in different areas in various capacities in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, and West Bengal.
