Hyderabad: Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod on Thursday asked officials to set up a Health Command Centre to attend to possible health emergencies faced by students when they return to or take admissions in Gurukuls across the State.
Reviewing amenities to be provided to students with officials here, she sanctioned Rs.20,000 for taking up repair works immediately and asked authorities to ensure that students don’t face any inconvenience after joining Gurukuls.
The Minister instructed officials concerned to coordinate with the Anganwadi staff for enrolling students into Gurukuls. Students faced problems because of the closure of Gurukuls after the outbreak of Covid-19. With the High Court giving permission for re-opening Gurukuls, teachers should take the responsibility and facilitate students to join and if necessary counseling should be given to parents in this regard.
Officials must ensure that every student especially in tribal hamlets and villages joins Gurukuls. After these institutions were closed, works pertaining to sanitation were taken up and if there are any pending works, officials must complete them at the earliest.
The Minister said focus should be on supplying power and drinking water apart from providing proper toilets and maintaining hygiene. At the same time, the staff in Gurukuls must adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols. Necessary steps should also be taken to supply books to students, she added.
