Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested seven youths for allegedly smoking banned hookah at the MRG farmhouse in Gandiguda, Shamshabad.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the premises and seized more than six hookah pots along with related smoking equipment.
Officials said a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of law.
According to local residents, such incidents are becoming increasingly common in farmhouses around Shamshabad, with reports of even minors indulging in drug use and hookah smoking.
Residents have urged authorities to intensify inspections to curb these illegal activities.
