Seven-member psuedo police gang nabbed for extortion in Hyderabad
The gang introduced themselves as Rachakonda SOT policemen and took away cash Rs.4,600 from four persons after threatening with lathis.
Hyderabad: Seven persons who impersonated as policemen and extorted money from public were arrested by the Osmania University police on Sunday.
According to the police, the seven persons had gone to Tarnaka street number 7 and caught four persons who were playing three cards and reportedly gambling. The gang introduced themselves as Rachakonda SOT policemen and took away cash Rs.4,600 from them after threatening with lathis.
On a complaint, the Osmania University police nabbed the seven pseudo policemen and seized the cash along with three lathis and two motorcycles. They were arrested and produced before the court.
