Severe cold-wave like conditions in Hyderabad and districts
Hyderabad and several Telangana districts witnessed severe cold-wave like conditions as minimum temperatures dropped to single digits, with Hyderabad recording 8.4°C. Many districts saw temperatures between 6°C and 10°C. IMD forecasts colder nights over the next two to three days across isolated pockets.

Hyderabad: Severe cold-wave like conditions prevailed across all parts of Telangana with mercury in multiple districts falling to single digits in the last 24-hours. In Hyderabad and its surrounding regions, the lowest minimum temperatures of 8.4 degree Celsius were recorded at Hyderabad Central University, Serilingampally between Sunday evening and early hours of Monday.
Some of the other locations in Hyderabad where minimum temperatures fell considerably, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) data, include Rajendranagar (10.1 degree C), Alwal and BHEL (10.6 degree C), RC Puram (12.2 degree C), Neredmet (12.4 degree C) while Chandanagar recorded 12. 4 degree C.
The minimum temperatures in districts were far less, when compared to Hyderabad, and ranged between 6.6 degree C to 10 degree C at multiple locations. Some of districts that recorded lowest include Sangareddy and Kumram Bheem Asifabad (6. 6 degree C), Adilabad (6.8), Vikarabad (7.8), Kamareddy (8.2), Niamabad (8.4), Nirmal (9 degree Celsius).
Based on the IMD-Hyderabad forecast,“Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius, at isolated pockets over Telangana during next 2 to 3 days”.
The IMD Hyderabad forecast has indicated that minimum temperatures at Adilabad, Kamareddy, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Medak, Nirmal and Medak districts, will range between 5 degree Celsius and 11 degree Celsius while temperatures in the rest of the districts will hover between 11 degree C and 15 degree Celsius, up to December 11.
