Hyderabad: In protest against a series of food poisoning incidents in the government run schools and State government’s negligence towards resolving the issue, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Telangana committee called for government schools bandh on November 30.
Despite a series of food poisoning incidents in welfare residential and government schools, the State government was unbothered about the issue even though students were dying, said RL Murthy, president SFI Telangana committee, on Thursday.
Stating that one year passed without a Minister for the education sector, SFI Telangana committee general secretary T Nagaraju said the State government has not been able to hold review on the issues being faced by students in the government run schools. “In protest against government negligence in resolving issues in the schools, it has been called for bandh of government schools,” said Murthy and Nagaraju.
They demanded the Chief Minister immediately review the education department, including hostels and welfare institutions, and resolve the long pending issues. They also demanded the appointment of the Education Minister.
