Hyderabad: Raj Kumar, the prime suspect in the killing of six persons, including his wife, two children and a minor girl who had filed a POCSO case against him, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Kothur, Ranga Reddy district, on Monday afternoon.
His body was discovered by locals at a venture in the Kothur area of Ranga Reddy district, who then alerted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the discovery. However, the police are yet to issue an official statement.
According to the police, Raj Kumar allegedly murdered the minor girl, her mother and her grandmother, and subsequently killed his wife and two sons in Shabad on Friday night.
The family of the minor girl had lodged a case against Raj Kumar under the POCSO Act in May, alleging that he had been harassing the minor. The killings were reportedly carried out to avenge the filing of the POCSO case.
Raj Kumar had been on the run following the murders. Police had formed 10 special teams to trace him, and his car was found near Kothur, close to Shadnagar, on Saturday morning, providing a crucial lead in the manhunt.
Further details are awaited.
