Hyderabad: In yet another violation of the model code of conduct ahead of Jubilee Hills bypoll, Telangana Government Advisor Mohd Shabbir Ali on Friday campaigned at a mosque and appealed to the Muslim community to recognise the power of their vote.
He addressed worshippers at the Masjid-e-Kaneez Fatima in Madhura Nagar, Ameerpet before the Friday prayers. “Every vote cast by a citizen carries the weight of their identity, dignity and collective voice,” he told the gathering, stressing that the survival and influence of any community in a democratic system depended on its participation in elections.
“We are nearly 13% of Telangana’s population, but if we do not vote, our presence does not count. A community that remains silent during elections loses its voice for the next five years,” Shabbir Ali said.
