Sharwanand unveils teaser of crime comedy Baa Baaa Black Sheep
Actor Sharwanand unveiled the teaser of stylish crime comedy Baa Baaa Black Sheep, directed by Guni Manchikanti. Featuring an ensemble cast, the film blends crime and humour and is notable for being shot entirely in Meghalaya.
Hyderabad: Actor Sharwanand on Friday unveiled the teaser of Baa Baaa Black Sheep, a stylish crime comedy produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner. The film is directed by Guni Manchikanti and was officially launched in October 2025, with filmmaker Tharun Bhascker having earlier released its motion poster.
Released on the occasion of Vasantha Panchami, the teaser offers a glimpse into a quirky narrative revolving around guns, gold and a city-wide chase involving six individuals. Sharing his thoughts after the launch, Sharwanand, who is riding high on the success of Nari Nari Naduma Murari, appreciated the teaser for its visual richness and wished the team success.
Touted as a stylish crime comedy, Baa Baaa Black Sheep features an ensemble cast including Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Marian, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya and Vismaya Sri. The film’s storyline centres on a flamboyant gangster, a group of misfit friends and eccentric criminals caught in a chaotic hunt triggered by the discovery of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘missing watch’. What follows is a series of misunderstandings, greed-driven pursuits and comic mishaps that unfold across the city.
Producer Venu Donepudi said the film blends a crime-driven plot with humour and situational irony. “The narrative focuses on secrets, hilarious twists, misunderstood crimes and evolving character dynamics. Witty dialogues and situational comedy are key elements of the film,” he said.
Notably, Baa Baaa Black Sheep is the first film to be shot entirely in Meghalaya. The scenic locations and dramatic landscapes form an integral part of the storytelling, with the narrative set in the northeastern state. The production team partnered with the Meghalaya government to facilitate a smooth shooting schedule. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma described the film as a significant step towards strengthening the state’s creative economy and tourism potential.
The film is currently in the post-production stage, with the makers eyeing a summer release.
