Shepherd washed away, officials use drone to supply food to stranded farmers in Sircilla

In Rajanna-Sircilla district of Telangana, a drone was deployed to supply food to five farmers stranded in the swollen Narmala Vagu rivulet following heavy rains.

Rajanna-Sircilla: A shepherd, Nagaiah, was washed away in the Narmalavagu in Gambhiraopet mandal on Wednesday as heavy rains swelled the rivulet.

A resident of Narmala, Nagaiah had taken cattle near the stream when he was swept away by strong currents.

In a separate incident, five farmers — Swamy, Pitla Mahesh, Pitla Swamy, Dyanaboina Swamy and another farmer — were stranded in the rivulet.

On receiving information, District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, along with police and other officials, rushed to the spot and monitored the rescue operations. Officials deployed drones to deliver food packets to the stranded farmers.
