Hyderabad: P Shiva hit 67 while Shubham Bisht and Anirudh Raj scalped three wickets each as Hyderabad defeated Chennai by 54 runs in the 37th Rajiv Gandhi All India Under-19 National T20 Federation Cup Day and Night Cricket Championship at Water Work Grounds, Amberpet on Thursday.
Earlier, former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah inaugurated the tournament. V Hanumanth Rao, former Rajya Sabha member and chairman of Cricket Federation of India (CFI), Ramulu Naik, former MLC, Dasoju Sravan, AICC spokesperson and CFI members took part in the inaugural ceremony. Water Work Grounds, Vijayanand Ground and L B Stadium are the venues of the tournament.
Brief Scores: Hyderabad 152/7 20 overs (P Siva 67) bt Chennai 98 in 19.4 overs (Shubham Bisht 3/19, Anirudh Raj 3/21); Telangana 145/5 in 20 overs bt Vidarbha 142 /6 in 20 overs at Vijayanand Ground; Bihar 120 in 20 overs lost to CFI 121/2 in 20 overs (Rithish 52) at L B Stadium.
