Shivani sets national record in U-14 swimming

Hyderabad: Shivani Karra of Telangana set a new School Games Federation of India National Record at the 69th National School Games held in Delhi, becoming the fastest 200m backstroke swimmer in Under-14 year age category by winning the gold medal, clocking the time of 02.29.30.
Shivani erased the record of Ridhima Veerendra Kumar of Karnataka created in the year 2019 with the time of 02.29.75.
The Hyderabad swimmer, trained by Ayush Yadav at the Gachibowli Stadium of Sports Authority of Telangana, also won a silver in 50 m backstroke, clocking 31.98, coming second to Shreya Binil representing CISCE, clocking 31.67, followed by Siva Kumari Nandigam of Telangana winning bronze with the time of 33.67.
