Hyderabad: Shriram Housing Finance, Mumbai-based housing finance company, promoted by Shriram City Union Finance, plans to hire 225 employees in Telangana. The company which has 120 employees at present will take the number to 345 by the end of 2021.

The company is also planning to hire 125 employees in Andhra Pradesh as part of its expansion plan in the region. It plans to enhance the distribution for home loans by adding sales points across 178 branches of Shriram City in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTG) by the end of 2021.


Currently, the company has 11 own branches in APTG region with assets under management (AUM) of over Rs 500 crore. Shriram Housing Finance will leverage the extensive branch network and customer base of its parent Shriram City Union Finance to accelerate its growth.

The initiative christened Griha Poorti is in its initial phase in the APTG markets with over 50 branches in Telangana already activated. The company is targeting disbursements worth Rs 100 crore on a monthly basis from APTG region in the next one year. The AUM of the company stood at Rs 4,000 crore nationally, with 13 per cent coming from APTG, as of August 2021.

Ravi Subramanian, MD & CEO, Shriram Housing Finance said, “The market potential in APTG is significantly large and we will capitalise on the strength of Shriram City’s branch network in the region. We are targeting to be the largest player in the affordable segment in the next one year in APTG.”
