Siddipet Anganwadi teacher enters panchayat poll fray

Anganwadi teacher Razia Sultana resigned and filed her nomination for the Sarpanch post of Indupuriyal village. Known for her social work through the SR Trust, she hopes her service during Covid-19 and support to villagers will earn public backing.

Siddipet: Anganwadi teacher Mohammad Umar Razia Sultana resigned from her job and filed her nomination for the Sarpanch post of Indupuriyal village in Doulthabad mandal on Saturday.

Sultana has been involved in several social initiatives after setting up the SR Trust across the district along with her husband Umar over the past five years. She earned recognition for her service during Covid-19 when she reached out to needy families. With a long-standing interest in public service from her early years, she has now decided to enter politics, viewing the panchayat elections as an opportunity to work more closely with the community.
